2 Kings 5:2-And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife.
Some months back, I heard brother Jim Day preach a lesson on Naaman, the man who had leprosy. He went to Elisha the Prophet for healing, and God answered his prayer when he obeyed what He said to do. Brother Jim pointed out something I had never noticed before: it was only through the intervention of a young girl’s faith that Naaman learned of the Prophet Elisha. God worked through the agency of a young girl to bring about healing for a man!
Never underestimate the ways that God can work through you, regardless of your station in life. That young lady had the courage to speak about God and His Word, and look at the good that came about! Too often, we worry about what would go wrong if we speak the Word of God to those around us. Perhaps we should consider what could go right if we speak of God!
Lord, give us wisdom and courage to speak Your Word. Work through us for Your goodness. We pray for those who are in need, and for Your strength and guidance each day. Amen.
