Romans 5:3-4-And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
The word “perseverance” is from a Greek word that meant enduring hardships with confidence that those hardships were working towards something good. Sometimes we face obstacles, and may not realize why God is allowing them to happen in our life. The end may be difficult to see (perhaps even impossible). Yet the Bible is filled with examples of men and women who endured hardships without knowing why God was bringing them upon them. What they did have was their confidence in God’s Nature, and knowing that He was going to use their hardships for some purpose that would be good. When you don’t understand why you are facing what you are, trust in God to bring goodness through it!
Psalm 131:1-3-LORD, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me. 2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me. 3 O Israel, hope in the LORD From this time forth and forever.
Lord, we trust You and thank You for the good that you are going to bring through our hardships and trials. Help us to walk with You and not give up. We thank You and praise You! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
