Donald Trump And Antichrist

It is written:

Exodus 20:3-You shall have no other gods before Me.

Generally, I make it my aim to avoid speaking/writing about political issues and persons, except when such deal with specific Bible matters that need to be addressed. However, Scripture is clear that Christians MUST speak out on certain issues, regardless of who it offends, and despite the consequences for such (2 Timothy 3:12).

That time is here, and the truth needs to be spoken.

Donald Trump is antichrist.

With that being said, this matter is too serious as a Christian and a Gospel preacher to stay quiet about.

Before you click out of this article or write me off as a Democrat conspirator of some kind, hear me out. I am not a Democrat, and not a Republican (although that is how I am registered). The events of the last several years have led me to reject much of the political landscape.

The Apostle John tells us that “antichrist” is the one who opposes Jesus and/or tries to take His place.

1 John 2:18-“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.”

1 John 2:22-“Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.”

1 John 4:3-“and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”

2 John 7-“For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.”

Barclay has well pointed out:

“IN this verse, we meet the conception of antichrist. Antichrist is a word which occurs in the New Testament only in John’s letters (1 John 2:22, 4:3; 2 John 7); but it is the expression of an idea which is as old as religion itself. From its derivation, antichrist can have two meanings. Anti is a Greek preposition which can mean either against or in place of. Stratēgos is the Greek word for a commander, and antistratēgos can mean either the hostile commander or the deputy commander. Antichrist can mean either the opponent of Christ or the one who seeks to put himself in the place of Christ. In this case, the meaning will come to the same thing – but with this difference. If we take the meaning to be the one who is opposed to Christ, the opposition is plain. If we take the meaning to be the one who seeks to put himself in the place of Christ, antichrist can be one who subtly tries to take the place of Christ from within the Church and the Christian community. The one will be an open opposition, the other a subtle infiltration. Back in August of 2019, I became concerned with Donald Trump when he reshared the following Tweet:

“Thank you to Wayne Allyn Root for the very nice words. ‘President Trump is the greatest President for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world, not just America, he is the best President for Israel in the history of the world…and the Jewish people in Israel love him like he’s the King of Israel. They love him like he is the second coming of God…But American Jews don’t know him or like him. They don’t even know what they’re doing or saying anymore. It makes no sense! But that’s OK, if he keeps doing what he’s doing, he’s good for all Jews, Blacks, Gays, everyone. And most importantly, he’s good for everyone in America who wants a job.’ Wow!”

Trump thanked a man who said that he (Trump) is as loved as the Second Coming of God, and that he (Trump) should be welcomed and recognized as the rightful King (capital K-a sign of Divinity) of Israel.

Then Trump reshared the Tweet with great pride!

As shocking as Trump’s Tweet was, it was the reactions of many Christians that I found extremely stunning.

Here are some of the things that I heard from followers of Jesus.

“Well, Trump himself didn’t say it!” (No, he just praised the man who said it and then reshared it for all of his followers to adore!)

“Trump is just a good man fighting against the evil in our government!” (No, Trump is a man who claims to be as loved as Jesus Christ and who should be recognized as the rightful Divine King of Israel. That is not a good man!)

“Trump is the last hope for this country!” (Since when is the hope of a nation tied up in a man who claims to be God and whose entire lifestyle and horrible policies reflect Satan and his demonic horde?).

And my favorite:

“Trump never tweeted that, you made it up because you hate Trump!” (No, I didn’t make this up and I do NOT hate Donald Trump. One good thing about Trump’s Twitter being unblocked is that people can at least go back and see that Trump did INDEED tweet this!)

However, if there were any lingering doubt about Trump’s claims to being the Messiah, they have been removed by a video that he reshared on his “truth” network, and which he has been playing at several of his rallies.

Here is a transcript of Trump’s video (with certain segments highlighted for your consideration):

“And on June 14th, 1946, God looked down on his planned Paradise, and said, I need a caretaker. So God gave us Trump. God said, I need somebody willing to get up before dawn. Fix this country. Work all day. Fight the Marxists. Eat supper. Then go to the Oval Office and stay past midnight. And a meeting of the heads of state. So God made Trump.I need somebody with arms strong enough to wrestle the deep state, and yet gentle enough to deliver his own grandchild. Somebody to ruffle the feathers. Tame the cantankerous World Economic Forum. Come home hungry. Have to wait until the First Lady is done with lunch with friends. Then tell the ladies to be sure and come back real soon and mean it. So God gave us Trump. I need somebody who can shape an ax but wield a sword. Who had the courage to step foot in North Korea? Who can make money from the tar of the sand turned liquid to gold? Who understands the difference between tariffs and inflation? We’ll finish this 40 hour week by Tuesday noon, but then put in another 72 hours. So God made Trump. God had to have somebody willing to go into the den of vipers. Call out the fake news for their tongues as sharp as serpents. The poison of vipers is on their lips. And yet. Stop. So God made Trump. God said, I need somebody who will be strong and courageous, who will not be afraid or terrified of the wolves when they attack a man who cares for the flock. A shepherd to mankind who will never leave nor forsake them. I need the most diligent worker to follow the path and remain strong in faith and know the belief of God and country. Somebody who is willing to drill, bring back manufacturing and American jobs. Farm the lands. Secure our borders. Build our military. Fight the system all day and finish a hard weeks. Work by attending church on Sunday. And then his oldest son turns and says, God, let’s make America great again, dad. Let’s build back a country to be the envy of the world again. So God made Trump.”

Christians, please stop for a moment and reread the transcript from Trump’s video that he has more than endorsed.

Now, let’s take some time and consider some of those highlighted parts.

In the video, as the picture of the Earth is shown, we are told… “God looked down on his planned Paradise, and said, I need a caretaker. So God gave us Trump.”

Did God decree that Trump is to be the “caretaker” of His “planned Paradise?”

No.

Last time I checked God’s Word, JESUS is the “caretaker” of planet Earth.

Matthew 28:18-And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

“A shepherd to mankind who will never leave nor forsake them…So God made Trump.”

In the Bible, the “Shepherd” to “mankind” who will “never leave nor forsake” them- is identified as JESUS CHRIST.

Ezekiel 34:23-24, 30-31-I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them—My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd. 24  And I, the LORD, will be their God, and My servant David a prince among them; I, the LORD, have spoken…Thus they shall know that I, the LORD their God, am with them, and they, the house of Israel, are My people,” says the Lord GOD.’ 31  “You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord GOD.

According to the New Testament, Jesus is the Good Shepherd:

John 10:11, 14, 16, 28, 29-I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.…I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own…And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd…And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Again, Who in the Bible are we told will never leave nor forsake us?

Deuteronomy 31:6-Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8-And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Joshua 1:5-No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.

1 Samuel 12:22-For the LORD will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the LORD to make you His people.

1 Chronicles 28:20-And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

Isaiah 41:17-The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, Their tongues fail for thirst. I, the LORD, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

Hebrews 13:5-Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.”

Jesus is the One Who will never leave us nor forsake us, NOT Donald Trump.

Christians, don’t’ be deceived.

Donald Trump continues to: 1. Commend those who claim that he is as loved as the Second Coming of God and should be welcomed as the rightful King (capital K) of Israel; 2. Promote a video which takes Messianic prophecies fulfilled in Jesus Christ and applies them to Donald Trump.

Since “antichrist” is one who tries to take the place of Christ, and since Trump applies Messianic prophecies that apply ONLY to Jesus to himself, then the conclusion is undeniable:

Donald Trump is an antichrist.

So, what do we do?

First, let’s stop denying the truth of this matter. Trump has given us ample evidence of his claims to being the Messiah for years at this point. (Should we even take time here to mention his ridiculous superhero trading cards?) Political devotion is no excuse for hiding from the facts. The truth is precious (Psalm 19:7; Proverbs 30:5-6, John 8:32), and we must speak that truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), especially when the stakes are so high. I don’t mean the stakes of who will be winning or losing an election: I am talking about the stakes of people giving allegiance due the true Messiah-Jesus Christ- to Donald Trump. This is not primarily a political issue: it is a SPIRITUAL issue.

Second, let’s acknowledge that the hope for our nation is not to be found in any politician or political party. It is found in turning back to God-the one true God-Who saves individuals and nations when they humble themselves before Him in faith repentance and obedience (Psalm 9:17; Proverbs 14:34; Jeremiah 18:1-10; Ezekiel 18:23).

Third, no matter what your political stance, Jesus should be your (and mine, and everyone’s) primary Focus. You need to decide for yourself if you can in good conscience rally for and defend a human being who proudly and arrogantly claims to be the Messiah, even taking the words from the Holy Bible that apply to Jesus alone, and then applies them to himself.

Fourth, we need to not lose sight of the fact that VIOLENT REFORM is never the way for Christians to move forward and influence this world. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are spiritual and powerful (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). I still shutter at the events of January 6 2021. Seeing gallows to hang Mike Pence with John 3:16 verses right there beside them were horrifying. Hearing of the insurrectionists being defended by Trump as “heroes” and “hostages” in light of hundreds of attacks upon police officers that day is beyond horrific. Violence is not the answer. The Democrats are not the enemy: the Republicans are not the enemy: and peaceful immigrants and minorities are not the enemy. The real enemy is the one that Christians are supposed to be focusing on (Ephesians 6:10-18), and to whom those outside of Christ are enslaved (2 Timothy 2:24-26).

Fifth, we need to be prepared for backlash from those who don’t like the facts presented here. We will likely be ostracized by family and friends, even by preachers and churches, because we speak the truth that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and that Donald Trump is most certainly not. (I still remember with sorrow and revulsion the day a Christian told me proudly that we must support Donald Trump because he is our Messiah). Yet persecution has always been the lot of God’s people throughout time (Matthew 5:3-10; 1 Peter 4:16).

Finally, we need to devote ourselves to prayer for Donald Trump even as we speak against his blasphemies. This is what God commands Christians to do (1 Timothy 2:1-7). We need to desire and work towards the salvation of everyone-even our enemies (Matthew 5:44-45).

Wouldn’t it be a great thing if Donald Trump actually became a Christian?

Wouldn’t it be a great thing if Joe Biden actually became a Christian?

No matter who you vote for or how you vote, I will still love you. I humbly hope the same from you.

May we boldly speak the truth in love: Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and Donald Trump is NOT!

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.
