The Shriners (One)

It is written:

“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding. So now we can know the one who is true, and we live in that true God. We are in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God, and he is eternal life. 21  So, dear children, keep yourselves away from false gods.” (1 John 5:20-21)

Recently, I was blessed to obtain a copy of The Mystic Shrine Initiation Ritual. The Shriners (who are one of the highest levels of the Masonic Lodge) use this book as a guide for how they are initiated.

Over the years, I have noticed many glaring contradictions between Freemasonry and Christianity (some of which will be pointed out in this series of articles). The same may definitely be said for what I have learned about the Shriners, from their own booklet.

What I would like to point out in this article is that Shriners must call upon, pray to, invoke, and worship the god of Islam, Allah. The following are quotations from The Mystic Shrine Initiation Ritual:

“By the existence of Allah and the creed of Mohammed; by the legendary sanctity of our Tabernacle at Mecca, we greet you, and in commemoration of the Arab’s faith in purity and innocence, we accept your answers as sincere, and you will now be permitted to proceed in the rites and ceremonies of the mystic Shrine.”

“________, of my voluntary desire, uninfluenced and of free accord, do here assume, without reserve, the Obligation of the Nobility of the Mystic Shrine, as did the elect of the Temple of Mecca, the Moslem and the Mohammedan. I do hereby, upon this Bible, and on the mysterious legend of the Koran, and its dedication to the Mohammedan faith, promise and swear and vow on the faith and honor of an upright man, come weal or woe, adversity or success, that I will never reveal any secret part or portion whatsoever of the ceremonies I have already received, that are about to be communicated to me or that I may hereafter be instructed in, to any person in the world, except it be to a well-known member of the Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, and I, knowing to an absolute certainty that he or they be truly and lawfully such, and of standing with such Nobility. That I will not be present, aid or countenance the conferring of the Order of the Mystic Shrine upon any person who is not a Masonic Knight Templar or a thirty-second degree A. And A. Scottish Rite Mason in good standing.”

“In willful violation whereof may I incur the fearful penalty of having my eyeballs pierced to the center with a three-edged blade, my feet flayed and I be forced to walk the hot sands upon the sterile shores of the Red Sea until the flaming sun shall strike me with living plague, and may Allah, the god of Arab, Moslem, and Mohammedan, the god of our fathers, support me to the entire fulfillment of the same, Amen, Amen, Amen.”

“Priest (approaching to East and raising both hands)-“And may Allah protect and support you, that you be not cast into ‘al hotama’ (hell).”

“This is the place where our brethren stop to sprinkle the Devil’s Pass with urine. You will contribute a few drops of urine to commemorate the time and place where all who pass here renounce the wiles and evils of the world to worship at the Shrine of Islam. Only a few drops will do.”

These are some of the references in the Mystic Shrine Initiation Ritual to Islam. Notice the following with me.

First, it is absolutely clear that the Shriner level fo Freemasonry is tied directly to Allah, the god of Islam. The Initiate must swear allegiance to Allah, refer to Allah as the god of our forefathers, participate in worship to Allah, and make allegiance to Allah on the Koran.

You CANNOT be a faithful Christian and so compromise the faith of Christ for the Lodge.

Second, the ceremony claims that Allah has the power to save people from Hell. This is a lie-only Jesus Christ has the keys of Hades and death (Revelation 1:18). Allah is a false god who was defeated by Jesus at Calvary (Colossians 2:15), and who has no power over eternity (Matthew 25:41-46).

You CANNOT be a faithful Christian and teach that Allah has the power of God.

Third, the Koran is placed on equal footing with the Holy Bible. While this is in harmony with Masonic teaching (i.e., that all religions are equal), it is not in harmony with the teaching of God’s Word (cf. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Revelation 22:18-19; Galatians 1:6-9).

You cannot be a faithful Christian and teach that all religions and creeds are Divine!

Several Christians who are Masons that I have studied with over the years have told me that the Shriner Initiation has NOTHING to do with Allah. Perhaps some were lower level Lodge members and did not know the truth. (After all, it is said in the Shriner ceremony hat the Initiate agrees not to share the mysteries of the Shrine with lower ranking Masons). However, a few have told me that they were Shriners and that their system had nothing to do with Islam.

On the other hand, two Masons that I have known over the years told me the exact OPPOSITE. Now, with the Mystic Shrine Initial Ritual In front of me, I can see who was telling me the truth.

If you are a Mason and/or a Shriner, I encourage you to renounce this system. If you are not a Christian, repent and be baptized into Christ today (Acts 2:38). If you are a Christian involved in the Lodge, please turn away from such and turn back to the Lord in repentance and prayer (1 John 1:9; James 5:16).
