Did Cavemen Build Noah’s Ark?

Job 8:8-For inquire, please, of the former age, And consider the things discovered by their fathers;
Over the years, many have objected to the Bible account of Noah’s Ark because they have been taught that ancient men and women were people running around half-naked, barely able to communicate, and living in caves without any capacity for intelligence. Surely, such people could not have built an Ark such as the Bible describes!
I completely agree with their conclusion that such cavemen could not have built Noah’s Ark.
But that is NOT a true representation of ancient man.
Oh, there are many in the world who want us to believe that mankind is evolved from apes, and that cavemen are an early less evolved “version” of humanity. But the facts show this is not true.
For example:
“DNA retrieved from some of their bones shows Neanderthals to be on the genetic fringes of the modern human range, but still within the human range. They are closer to the norm of all ethnic groups than are modern Australian aborigines, which, although distinct in several ways, are part of an undoubtedly human people group. As it turns out, the average brain size of Neanderthals exceeded the modern human average. If brain size were the determinative factor, Neanderthals would have been super-brilliant. Just as individual aborigines can receive education, achieve expertise in any given area, and are interfertile with other ethnic groups, so a Neanderthal could probably take his place among humankind. His physical traits might make him conspicuous in some crowds, but he was fully human in every respect. Research has discovered evidence that Neanderthals lived in communities, raised crops, hunted large animals, used weapons, decorated their bodies with jewelry and tattoos, buried their dead, observed religious rites, and had thoughts of an afterlife. They fashioned musical instruments and even employed the same musical scale in use today. In short, they were just as human as you or I….“Caveman” is not a primitive stage of evolution. Instead, it indicates a level of technology among humans. Neanderthals were essentially modern humans, prohibited by difficult conditions from making technological advances and unaware of the advances of others, but surviving in the best ways they could.” (John D. Not only this, but the evidence clearly shows that the people who lived before the Flood during Noah’s time were highly intelligent and sophisticated!
“Here are some things that have been found. Artifacts have been found to authenticate a civilization superior to our current intelligence. For instance, a Tibetan priest and other men found a cave opened after an earthquake, and there within the cave was self-generating lights, pictures of men in flying machines that defied gravity, picture taking cameras and other artifacts…. In Pre-Inca Peru, very detailed pictures drawn on cave walls exist, showing brain surgery being performed with the cranium open, forceps, scalpels of highly polished brass; amputations, bone transplants, other surgical procedures. When discovered several years ago, the people who found them did not know what they were because we were not that technologically advanced yet….Then there’s the 14,000 stone carvings in Peru revealing surgery being performed, and in a pre-Columbian culture were discovered beautifully carved arms, legs, hands, used as artificial limbs…. We’ll also discuss the small plane found when miners were digging coal; which has been tested by aerodynamics experts, who made drawings and a model. It’s my conjecture that the pre-flood civilization was again partly rebuilt until God divided the languages and scattered them into nations at Babel, and the new decomposition factor took its toll shortening the life span, thus ending that entirely.2 Either they were cavemen, or they were smarter than we are, one or the other. Adam was perfect mentally, (if God created him, AND HE DID), and his sons were mentally perfect, and degeneration and that deterioration was slow. Under the canopy, (this we’ll be explaining later) decomposition was very slow. But after the flood, it began to speed up greatly because of the sun’s own radiation. So before the flood they could have had a wisdom and intellect for surpassing anything we know…. It is obvious that someone back in that era had the mental capability to produce articles far superior to some of our present day inventions. The pre-flood world was composed of people who were made in the likeness of Adam and Eve, with their incredible knowledge and skill. What’s more, that world had been greatly influenced by the forbidden knowledge that the fallen angels had brought with them to humanity (as documented in ancient Jewish history books like First Enoch, Jasher, and Jubilees).
The assertion that ancient man could not have had the knowledge and skill to build a ship like Noah’s Ark simply doesn’t hold water (pun intended).
Now, have there been people throughout time who have lived in caves?
Yes, and the Bible gives the best explanation for this.
Genesis 11:8-So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
The events of the Tower of Babel led to great confusion as the people were scattered over the face of the Earth.
“Now consider what would happen to those groups isolated from any knowledge of building houses or smelting metal for tools. They may well find that the easiest house to live in is one that already exists in the ground—a cave. And the hardest obtainable material for tools would be stone. Also consider that the Bible continually refers to entire peoples and populations who lived in caves after the events of the Tower of Babel. They are known as the Horites.
Genesis 14:6-and the Horites in their mountain of Seir, as far as El Paran, which is by the wilderness.
The Horites are mentioned several other times in the Old Testament (cf. Genesis 36:21, 29, 30; Deuteronomy 2:12, 22). Now, consider what the word “Horite” means.
“Here dwelt the “Horites.” This name means “cave-dwellers,” it would seem (chor—” hole”). This meaning may be regarded as almost established by the expression following, viz., “in their mountains.”” (H.C. Leupold, Exposition of Genesis, Volume 1 & 2, 560 (Kindle Edition): Ephesians Four Group)
My friends, the factual history of Noah and the Flood testifies to us that there is a Day of Judgment approaching.
Matthew 24:37-39-But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Will we be wise enough to trust and obey God?
Father, thank You for preserving humanity through the Ark. Thabk You for sparing our lives to this moment and showing us such amazing mercy through Christ. Help us to learn from the terrible decisions of ancient man and the folly of disobeying You. Amen.
