Eight Reasons Why You Should Believe In God

(More Bible Studies Available @ www.marktabata.com)

It is written:

Hebrews 11:6-But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Christianity is a religion of sound reasoning and evidence (Isaiah 1:18; Romans 1:18-20). In a day and age where so many have embraced atheism (the belief system which claims to know that God does not exist), it is imperative that we be willing to share with our friends and neighbors a defense of the hope that is within us, yet with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15).

Let’s notice seven evidences that show us that God exists.

Everything That Begins To Exist Must Have Something Which Caused It, So God Exists

The law of causality states that every effect must have an an adequate antecedent cause. In other words, if something begins to exist, then it must be caused by something which has the ability to cause it, and that this cause must come before the effect. We know (from mathematics and from science) that the universe had a beginning.

“Here, then, is the problem: the Universe exists; it must, in some fashion, be explained. There are but three ways to account for it. (1) It is eternal. (2) It is not eternal; rather it created itself from nothing. (3) It is not eternal; it was created by something anterior, and superior, to itself. Let us now explore these ideas. First, it is now clear scientifically that the Universe is not eternal. Jastrow declares: “… in science, as in the Bible, the World begins with an act of creation. That view has not always been held by scientists. Only as a result of the most recent discoveries can we say with a fair degree of confidence that our Universe has not existed forever; that it began abruptly, without any apparent cause, in a blinding event that defies scientific explanation” (p. 2). The very fact that scientists attempt to assign an age to the Universe admits to its having an origin! Second, it is absurd to even suggest that matter could create itself. There is no known natural process whereby matter could, from nothing, fashion itself. Dr. George E. Davis, a physicist, has said: “No material thing can create itself” (1958, p. 71). The Universe is not self-explanatory. Third, the only remaining alternative is that the Universe was created by: (a) something that existed before it did, i.e., some eternal, uncaused Cause; (b) something superior to it, for the created cannot be superior to the Creator, and; (c) something of a different nature since the finite, dependent Universe of matter is unable to explain itself.” (Wayne Jackson, Eric Lyons, Kyle Butt, Surveying The Evidence, 273-293 (Kindle Edition); Montgomery, Alabama; Apologetics Press, Inc.)

Since the universe began to exist, and since the universe could not create itself, therefore something outside the universe created it. Therefore, God exists.

Everything That Shows Undeniable Evidence Of Design Has A Designer, So God Exists

The same principle of causality reminds us that something which is designed must have a designer: and since the universe shows evidence of design, it must therefore have a Designer. There are literally thousands of examples of design in our universe which cannot be accounted for by random chance.

“Since the threshold of mathematical impossibility is 1 in 10 to the 50th power (ie: given a 13.73 billion year universe, there is not enough time for anything with this or smaller odds to occur by chance), and the odds of this fine-tuning coming into existence by chance are far, far beyond that, we can rule out chance. Only a transcendent Creator makes sense of this unbelievably complex order in the universe. During the last 35 years or so, scientists have discovered that the existence of intelligent life absolutely depends upon this very delicate and complex balance of initial conditions. It appears that “the deck was stacked” in the substances, constants and quantities of the Big Bang itself, to provide a life-permitting universe. We now know through modern science that life-prohibiting universes are vastly more probable than any life-permitting universe like ours. How much more probable? Well, the answer is that the chances that the universe should be life-permitting are so infinitesimally small as to be incomprehensible and incalculable. For example, Stephen Hawking has estimated that if the rate of the universe’s expansion one second after the Big Bang had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, the universe would have re-collapsed into a hot fireball due to gravitational attraction. (4) Physicist P.C.W. Davies has calculated that the odds against the initial conditions being suitable for star formation (without which planets could not exist) is one followed by at least a thousand billion billion zeroes! (5) Davies also calculates that a change in the strength of gravity or of the weak force by merely one part in 10 raised to the 100th power (!) would have prevented a life-permitting universe. (6) As we saw in the previous lists, there are dozens and dozens of such constants and quantities present in the Big Bang which must be exquisitely fine-tuned in this way if the universe is to permit life. Moreover, it’s not only each individual quantity or constant which must be finely tuned; their ratios to each other must also be exquisitely finely tuned. Therefore, vast improbability is multiplied by vast improbability, and yet again by vast improbability repeatedly until our minds are simply reeling in vanishingly small odds. There is no plausible physical reason why these constants and quantities should have the values that they do. Reflecting on this, the once-agnostic physicist P.C.W. Davies comments, “Through my scientific work I have come to believe more and more strongly that the physical universe is put together with an ingenuity so astonishing that I cannot accept it merely as a brute fact.” (7) Likewise, British Astrophysicist Sir Frederick Hoyle remarks, “A common sense interpretation of the facts suggests that a super-intellect has monkeyed with physics.” (8) Robert Jastrow, the head of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, refers to this as “the most powerful evidence for the existence of God ever to come out of science.” (9) So, again, the view that Christian theists have historically held, that there is an intelligent Designer of the universe, seems to make so much more sense than the atheistic alternative: that the universe, when it popped into being, without cause, out of nothing, just happened to be, by chance, fine-tuned for intelligent life with a mind-numbingly unlikely precision and delicacy. To call the odds against this fine-tuning occurring by chance “astronomical” would be a wild understatement.” (Stephen Joseph Williams, What Your Atheist Professor Doesn’t Know (But Should): An Exploration Of The Implications Of Modern Science, Archaeology, History And Philosophy, 121-124(Kindle Edition); RFH)

The universe was designed, so therefore the universe has a Designer, and God exists.

Natural Law Demands A Supernatural Lawgiver, So God Exists

The principle of causality also reminds us that since there are natural laws at work in our universe which govern how everything in the physical universe operate, and that since these physical laws may only be accounted for by a supernatural Lawgiver, then God must exist. How do we know that physical laws demands a supernatural Source? Very simply, since the physical laws of the universe had their origin when the universe itself began to exist, then they could not have existed before the universe itself did! Therefore, those laws must clearly point to a supernatural Cause.

“Many attributes of the creator remain unknown or hidden, but there are some conclusions that we can reasonably draw from what we know. As the universe was produced by a creative act, it is reasonable to infer that it was produced by some sort of mind. Mind is the origin of matter, and it is mind that produced matter, rather than the other way around. As the universe comprises the totality of nature, containing everything that is natural, its creator must necessarily be outside nature. As the creator used no natural laws or forces to create the universe, the creator is clearly supernatural. As space and time are within the universe, the creator is also outside space and time, which is to say, eternal. As the universe is material, the creator is immaterial, which is to say, spiritual. As the universe was created from nothing, the creator is incomprehensibly powerful or, as best as we can tell, omnipotent.” (Dinesh D’Souza, What’s So Great About Christianity, 126 (Kindle Edition); Washington, DC; Regnery Publishing, Inc.)

Since physical law exists, and since physical law may only be accounted for by a Supernatural source, then God exists.

Every Program Must Have A Programmer, So God Exists

Within every living thing there is a code of life which programs how that life from exists and progresses. This code is known as deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).

“DNA is like a computer program but far, far more advanced than any software ever created.” (Bill Gates) Really, Bill? Who was the Creator? You can’t make new proteins without DNA. Yet you can’t make new DNA without proteins. The ‘chicken-egg’ conundrum is rife throughout Evolutionism. DNA is a code, a language. Who do you think developed this language? An Intelligent Designer/ Creator, or an uncaused explosion/ expansion of ‘nothing’? DNA is essentially an incredibly detailed recipe book, an instructional manual. Depending on the creature required, there are instructions on how to build scales, feathers, teeth, wings, fur, tails, etc. There’s also specific information for details such as colouring and length of fur or hair. How can you possibly account for this, without an Intelligent Designer? Do you really believe this was accidental, the result of blind chance? Producing this information is one thing, but you also require the information to be interpreted, and then followed, accurately. “I’m fascinated by the idea that genetics is digital. A gene is a long sequence of coded letters, like computer information. Modern biology is becoming very much a branch of information technology.” (Eryn Brown, ‘Q& A: Richard Dawkins discusses evolution, religion and his fans’, Los Angeles Times, 30 November 2013) Scientists have discovered limits within DNA. There’s code within it, prohibiting the development of one kind of animal into another. Darwinian Evolution is impossible for this reason alone.” (Peter Erbacher, How the Bible Destroyed My Religion, 302-303 (Kindle Edition): Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia: Kelly & Sons Publishing)

Could this code have evolved by chance over vast eons of time without a supernatural Programer?

“In fact, the chance of you being able to jump high enough to reach the moon is greater than the chance that DNA would form by chance….Sir Fredrick Hoyle vividly illustrates the probability of spontaneous generation like this: Supposing the first cell originated by chance is like believing a tornado could sweep through a junkyard filled with airplane parts and form a Boeing 747….This means that the odds of a single functional DNA molecule coming together at random are about the same odds that you could fill a billion universes with golf balls and put a small red dot on the bottom of one ball and somehow a blindfolded baby could find that ball while rummaging through the hundred billion galaxies on the very first try.” (Joe White with Nicholas Comninellis, Darwin’s Demise: Why Evolution Can’t Take The Heat, 302-350 (Kindle Edition); Green Forest, AR; Master Books)

We know that this code is like a computer program, and since every program must have a programmer, then the Divine Programer must exist.

Moral Law Demands A Moral Lawmaker, So God Exists

There are moral laws that humanity is aware of. These laws are prescriptive (they describe how humanity ought to behave), and they are evidenced in every culture throughout time, regardless of parentage or culture.

“So, Jeff, how can you believe in God with all the evil in this world!? Have you ever heard of the Holocaust? Stalin? Lenin? War? Starving children? Tsunamis? Earthquakes? Wake up, man! There is no God!”…I cleared my throat, gathered my thoughts, and looked toward Dan to ask him a question he was not expecting: “Dan, can you and I interact on this issue for a moment?” “What do you mean?” he responded. “Well, you have asked a great question, but I think the question itself needs to be analyzed. Would you help me with this issue?” Hesitantly, but confidently, Dan said, “Sure. What do you want?” “Well, first of all, once you admit that there is such a thing as ‘evil’ in the world, are you not also assuming that there is such a thing as ‘good’? 4 After all, how can anyone know the definition of ‘evil’ unless he knows the definition of ‘good’?”…The origin of the moral law within every human heart is perhaps one of the greatest objective proofs of God’s existence. No matter where you travel in this world, absolute moral law exists within every culture. Equally astounding is the fact that even in communist, war- torn countries where God has been thrown out of the public arena, the masses continue to live in testimony to His existence in private. In fact, people in communist countries possess a moral law that is astonishingly similar to those nations in which religion is not restricted, where God is alive and well….Only the creator and sustainer of all things would have the authority, knowledge, and power to implant within all creatures the ability to distinguish between ‘good’ and ‘evil.’ What is most interesting is the fact that no matter where you go in the world, the basic understanding of right and wrong exists, and only when evil men set out to tarnish and corrode such understanding do the atrocities of our world occur.” (Jeff Vines, Dinner With Skeptics: Defending God In A World That Makes No Sense, 144-263 (Kindle Edition); College Press Publishing Company)

Since prescriptive moral laws exist, and since prescriptive moral laws may only from a prescriptive moral Lawgiver, then God exists.

The Bible Evidences True Prophecy, So God Exists

If the Bible contains evidences which may only be explained by Divine inspiration, then God exists. The Bible does contain evidences which may only be explained by Divine inspiration. Therefore, God exists. One of the evidences that the Bible is the Word of God comes from the fact that the Bible writers were given extremely advanced and detailed knowledge of the future years, centuries, and sometimes thousands of years before those events came to pass. There are literally thousands of prophecies in the Bible which we could examine, but we will just notice here the amazing phenomena of Messianic prophecy. These are prophecies which were made about Jesus hundreds and thousands of years before He was born, and which were fulfilled in Him. How many prophecies are we talking about?

“In addition to the broad strokes portraying the Messiah as a reigning king and suffering servant, there are a host of more specific, detailed prophecies that relate to His coming. In regard to the number of Messianic prophecies, Santala wrote: “It is estimated that the Old Testament contains altogether some 456 prophecies concerning Christ. Of these 75 are to be found in the Pentateuch, 243 in the Prophets and 138 in the ‘Writings’ and Psalms” (1992, p. 149; cf. Free and Vos, 1992, p. 241).” (Kyle Butt, Behold! The Word Of God, 2316 (Kindle Edition); Montgomery, Alabama; Apologetics Press)

Now, after examining some of the evidences which document how Jesus fulfilled the hundreds of prophecies that applied to His First Coming, two authors discuss how the study of mathematics documents this Divine evidence of His Divinity.

“Professor Emeritus of Science at Westmont College, Peter Stoner, has calculated the probability of one man fulfilling the major prophecies made concerning the Messiah. The estimates were worked out by twelve different classes of 600 college students. The students carefully weighed all the factors, discussed each prophecy at length, and examined the various circumstances which might indicate that men had conspired together to fulfill a particular prophecy. They made their estimates conservative enough so that there was finally unanimous agreement even among the most skeptical students. But then Professor Stoner took their estimates and made them even more conservative. He also encouraged other skeptics or scientists to make their own estimates to see if his conclusions were more than fair. Finally, he submitted his figures for review to a Committee of the American Scientific Affiliation. Upon examination, they verified that his calculations were dependable and accurate in regard to the scientific material presented. (19: 4) For example, concerning Micah 5: 2, where it states the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem Ephrathah, Stoner and his students determined the average population of Bethlehem from the time of Micah to the present; then they divided it by the average population of the earth during the same period. They concluded that the chance of one man being born in Bethlehem was one in 2.8 x 105—or rounded, one in 300,000. After examining eight different prophecies, they conservatively estimated that the chance of one man fulfilling all eight prophecies was one in 1017. To illustrate how large the number 1017 is (a figure with 17 zeros), Stoner gave this illustration. Imagine covering the entire state of Texas with silver dollars to a level of two feet deep. The total number of silver dollars needed to cover the whole state would be 1017. Now, choose just one of those silver dollars, mark it and drop it from an airplane. Then thoroughly stir all the silver dollars all over the state. When that has been done, blindfold one man, then tell him he can travel wherever he wishes in the state of Texas. But some time he must stop, reach down into the two feet of silver dollars and try to pull up that one specific silver dollar that has been marked. Now, the chance of his finding that one silver dollar in the state of Texas would be the chance the prophets had for eight of their prophecies coming true in any one man in the future. In financial terms, is there anyone who would not invest in a financial venture if the chance of failure were only one in 1017? This is the kind of sure investment we are offered by God for belief in His Messiah. Professor Stoner concluded: “The fulfillment of these eight prophecies alone proves that God inspired the writing of those prophecies to a definiteness which lacks only one chance in 1017 of being absolute.” (19: 107) Another way of saying this is that any person who minimizes or ignores the significance of the biblical identifying signs concerning the Messiah would be foolish. But, of course, there are many more than eight prophecies….Remember, this number represents the chance of only 48 prophecies coming true in one person. It illustrates why it is absolutely impossible for anyone to have fulfilled all the Messianic prophecies by chance. In fact, a leading authority on probability theory, Emile Borel, states in his book Probabilities and Life, that once we go past one chance in 1050, the probabilities are so small it’s impossible to think they will ever occur. (34) Here is one last illustration of the immensity of the number 10157 and why the science of probability shows we are dealing with the miraculous. Imagine one ant traveling at the speed of only one inch every 15 billion years. If he could only carry one atom at a time, how many atoms could he move in 10157 years? He could, even at that incredibly slow speed, be able to move all the atoms in 600,000 trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion universes the size of our universe, a distance of 30 billion light years!(50: 120) Again, all of this means it is impossible for 48 prophecies to be fulfilled by chance. It is proof that there must be a God who supernaturally gave this information.” (John Weldon, John Ankerberg, Walter C. Kaiser, Jr., The Case for Jesus the Messiah, 12-15 (Kindle Edition); ATRI Publishing)

Since predictive prophecy is evidence of Divine inspiration, and since the Bible evidences numerous examples of predictive prophecy, then the Bible is the Word of God, and hence, God exists.

Since Macroevolution Is False, Then Supernatural Creation Must Be True And God Must Exist

Any theory of the origin of the universe must boil down to either creation or evolution. Literally, it is either one or the other. When we refer to “evolution” here reference is not being made to small changes within species (microevolution), but to large changes between species (macroevolution). The theory of macroevolution is false, and we have many evidences which document this!

“Evolutionism believers define ‘evolution’ as simply, ‘change over time’. They claim this degenerative process, entropy, which falls under the Second Law of Thermodynamics, moves organisms from simple to complex. They mistakenly believe things breaking down, wearing out, moving toward disorder, accelerates improvements and modifications forward. In other words, their dogma says entropy and Evolutionism can mean the same thing. Therefore, when things such as cars break down, wear and rust out, crumble and disintegrate, this is ‘evolution’. It’s also ‘evolution’ when paint peels from your house and fades from your car. They’ll say those things aren’t living. Therefore, Evolutionism doesn’t apply to them. Well, they also claim ‘rain on the rocks’ became alive, eventually evolving into dogs, dinosaurs, fish and humans. Besides, they have no problem labelling elephants losing the ability to grow tusks as ‘evolution’. This is degenerative; it’s a loss of genetic information. Their doctrine states that elephants chose to lose the ability to generate tusks, thereby sparing them from poachers. While this is a beautiful sentiment, it’s not true. All that’s happened is that the excessive killing of tusked-elephants is reducing their genetic pool. Mutations corrupt the dwindling gene pool, destroying information required for tusk development. It’s the complete opposite of what Evolutionism believers so fervently want to believe. Science shows DNA is lost in each and every generation from chemicals, mutations, radiation and genetic entropy. Evolutionism teaches the opposite, that new information is gained in every generation, becoming more complex. Hence the belief that fish evolved into humans, and dinosaurs into birds. If ‘evolution’ was true, reading glasses, facelifts, wigs, hearing aids and false teeth wouldn’t exist. Your health would improve, as would your mental faculties over the years, as you continued to ‘evolve’. Atheists would have you believe this inevitable, degenerative ‘change over time’ is ‘evolution’. The magical yellow brick road bacteria strolled along, before morphing into fish, then apes, before finally into humans. Evolutionism Doctrines: 1. Big Bang: Evolutionism’s creation story. The belief the universe and everything in it arose from an explosion of ‘nothing’. However, many are now claiming their previous ‘fact’ was wrong. The new ‘fact’ is, everything ‘expanded’ from ‘nothing’. Perhaps they should call it the Big Bloat. 2. Abiogenesis: The unscientific, religious belief life can arise from non-living matter. Such as, ‘flies evolve from rotting meat’. It’s Evolutionism’s ‘immaculate conception’. Frank the Frankensteinian first cell was conceived in primordial soup by Father Time and Mother Nature, with the assistance of Evolutionism’s holy spirit, Lady Luck. 3. Out of Africa: The belief two humans, male and female, evolved from apes, in Africa. 4. Punctuated Equilibrium: Evolution happens so fast; it cannot be observed. 5. Stasis: Evolution happens so slowly; it cannot be observed. 6. ♪ ‘Millions of Years’ ♪: This mantra is applied to rocks, rock layers, geological formations and fossils. Any evidence presented which refutes this doctrine is considered the gravest sin, blasphemy to the highest degree. When uttering their sacred scripture ♪ ‘millions of years’ ♪ it must be done so with an awed, reverent tone. 7. “Evolution is a fact!”: The mantra parroted when a believer is presented with science. “Evolution is not a fact. It doesn’t even qualify as a theory or hypothesis. It is a metaphysical research program, and is not really testable science.” (Karl Popper, Philosopher of Science) 8. Hydrogen: “A colourless, odourless gas which, given enough time, turns into people.” (Edward R. Harrison, Cosmology: The Science of the Universe) 9. Singularity: “A singularity” is the answer provided when asked, “What exploded/expanded during the alleged Big Bang/Bloat?” Yes, it’s a bit vague, isn’t it? Here’s a real answer: “Places in the universe where laws of physics break down and mathematics misbehave. When theories predict a singularity, scientists know the theory has been extended beyond its applicability.” (livescience.com) Missing Links ‘Missing links’, otherwise known as ‘transitional fossils’, demonstrate plants and animals appeared fully formed and functional, and have remained unchanged. Darwin admitted fossils should provide “innumerable transitional links,” admitting the lack of transitionals as, “The gravest objection which can be urged against my theory.” He believed at the time of writing, over 150 years ago, they’d be discovered in future years. Well, here we are, and they’re still missing. This fact is confirmed by Dr Colin Patterson, senior palaeontologist at the British Museum of Natural History. “I fully agree with your comments on the lack of direct illustration of evolutionary transitions in my book. If I knew of any, fossil or living, I would certainly have included them… I will lay it on the line, There is not one such fossil for which one might make a watertight argument.” (Gary Bates, 2008, ‘That quote!—about the missing transitional fossils: Embarrassed evolutionists try to “muddy the waters”,’ Creation Ministries International, Creation.com) Evolutionism believing Harvard palaeontologist, Stephen Jay Gould, wrote, “The extreme rarity of transitional forms in the fossil record persists as the trade secret of Palaeontology.” Think about what you’ve just read. It’s not Intelligent Designers making the claims. It’s Evolutionism believers, including the father of Evolutionism, Darwin, himself.” ((Peter Erbacher, How the Bible Destroyed My Religion, 304-307 (Kindle Edition): Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia: Kelly & Sons Publishing)

The primary reason why so many today embrace the science fiction of Darwinian evolution and reject the scientific evidence pointing to God is because the idea of God is offensive to many people.

“Writing in Nature as long ago as 1929, biologist D. M. S. Watson brazenly conceded, ‘The theory of evolution itself [is] a theory universally accepted, not because it can be proved by logically coherent evidence to be true, but because the only alternative is special creation, which is clearly incredible’113 (emphasis added). The palaeontologist L. T. More, of the University of Chicago, has said much the same thing: ‘Our faith in the idea of evolution depends upon our reluctance to accept the antagonistic doctrine of special creation.’114 So has the eminent British anthropologist Sir Arthur Keith: ‘Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it only because the alternative is special creation, which is unthinkable’115 (emphasis added).” (John Blanchard, Does God Believe In Atheists? 2383-2394 (Kindle Edition); Carlisle, PA; EP Books USA)

Since the existence of the universe is due either to God or macroevolution, and since macroevolution is false, then God exists.

People Often Instinctively Know That There Is A God, So God Exists

The majority of people throughout time have demonstrated belief that there is a God, and this may very well come from our genes themselves.

“A 2012 Pew Research Center Study found that 84 percent of the global population claimed a religious affiliation. 8 And there is good reason to believe that many of the other 16 percent also believe in some sort of higher power: “Many of the unaffiliated hold some religious or spiritual beliefs (such as belief in God or a universal spirit) even though they do not identify with a particular faith.” 9 A 2017 study confirmed that only 7 percent of the world’s population openly claims a strong atheistic or agnostic identity. 10 Why do so many of us believe in god( s) or higher power( s)? It may be in our genes. University studies in the fields of developmental psychology and the cognitive science of religion now propose that our foundational belief in theism is ingrained in our DNA. Bruce Hood, a professor of developmental psychology at Bristol University, studied the beliefs of children in the United Kingdom and concluded that “children have a natural, intuitive way of reasoning that leads them to all kinds of supernatural beliefs about how the world works.” 11 In fact, Hood believes it is futile to encourage people to abandon their beliefs because these come from such a “fundamental level.” 12”. (J. Warner Wallace, Person of Interest: Why Jesus Still Matters In A World That Rejects The Bible, 31 (Kindle Edition): Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Reflective)

One of the fascinating evidences of God’s existence that has been documented comes from child psychiatrists and sociologists who have demonstrated that children have an innate knowledge of God.

“SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH on children’s developing minds and supernatural beliefs suggests that children normally and rapidly acquire minds that facilitate belief in supernatural agents. Particularly in the first year after birth, children distinguish between agents and nonagents, understanding agents as able to move themselves in purposeful ways to pursue goals. They are keen to find agency around them, even given scant evidence. Not long after their first birthday, babies appear to understand that agents, but not natural forces or ordinary objects, can create order out of disorder. Before children start school, they see the natural world as purposefully designed—even in ways that religious parents would not teach or endorse. This tendency to see function and purpose, plus an understanding that purpose and order come from minded beings, makes children likely to see natural phenomena as intentionally created. Who is the creator? Children know people are not good candidates. It must have been a god. Gods are not just humans with the ability to make mountains, trees, and butterflies, however. Early default assumptions about minded agents make it easy for children to understand gods as having full-access knowledge, superperception, superpower, immortality, and perhaps moral goodness. In fact, on some of these dimensions, children show the capability of reasoning in a theologically accurate way before being able to reason accurately about human beings on the same dimensions. This collection of religious ideas is among the features of what I call natural religion. In this chapter, I describe natural religion and also how it deviates from theological beliefs. Though children have strong natural tendencies toward religion generally, these tendencies do not inevitably propel them toward any one religion. They still have a lot to learn.” (Justin L. Barrett, Born Believers: The Science of Children’s Religious Belief, 135-136 (Kindle Edition): New York, NY: Free Press)

There are lots of logical and scientific reasons to believe that God exists, that the Bible is His Word, and that Jesus Christ is His Son.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.
