The Secret Destiny Of America?

It is written:

Psalm 9:17-The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.

Nations that refuse to follow the Lord God will be destroyed.

Through the years, many have pointed out the overtly Christian foundation of our country. It is true: many of our nation’s leaders were devoted to the Bible and to the Christian faith.

But there were some who were not.

Indeed, some of America’s founders were extremely biased against the Bible and Christianity.

Thomas Horn documents:

“John Adams was America’s second president and a close friend of Thomas Jefferson. Adams, Jefferson, and Franklin worked together on the first committee to design the Great Seal for the United States. …He wrote the following to Thomas Jefferson in a letter dated September 3, 1816: I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved—the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced![ 447] Worse than his friend, John Adams, was Thomas Jefferson. Along with Thomas Paine (who also wrote that Jesus was a blasphemous fable and that the Bible was “scarcely anything but a history of the grossest vices and a collection of the most paltry and contemptible tales” whose “Almighty committed debauchery with a woman engaged to be married, and the belief of this debauchery is called faith), Jefferson typified last-days “scoffers, walking after their own lusts” warned about in the Bible (2 Peter 3: 3, KJV). Jefferson said this about the book of Revelation in a letter to General Alexander Smyth dated January 17, 1825: It is between fifty and sixty years since I read it and I then considered it as merely the ravings of a maniac, no more worthy nor capable of explanation than the incoherences of our own nightly dreams.[ 448] …Here is what he said in a letter to William Short dated October 31, 1819: The greatest of all the Reformers of the depraved religion of his own country, was Jesus of Nazareth. Abstracting what is really His from the rubbish in which it is buried, easily distinguished by its luster from the dross of his biographers, and as separable from that as the diamond from the dunghill.[ 449] …In a letter to John Adams—his Declaration of Independence coauthor and assistant in designing the Great Seal of the United States—he wrote on January 24, 1814: Where did we get the Ten Commandments? The book indeed gives them to us verbatim, but where did it get them? For itself tells us they were written by the finger of God on tables of stone, which were destroyed by Moses.… But the whole history of these books is so defective and doubtful, that it seems vain to attempt minute inquiry into it.… We have a right to entertain much doubt what parts of them are genuine.[ 450] As seen earlier, Jefferson’s view of the New Testament was no better. In the same letter to John Adams, he wrote: In the New Testament there is internal evidence that parts of it have proceeded from an extraordinary man; and that other parts are of the fabric of very inferior minds. It is as easy to separate those parts, as to pick out diamonds from dunghills.[”. (Thomas R. Famed Masonic scholar, Manly P. Hall, documents how there was a powerful agenda throughout the ancient world to bring forth the nation of America.

He tells us:

“Thousands of years ago, in Egypt, these mystical orders were aware of the existence of the western hemisphere and the great continent which we call America. The bold resolution was made that this western continent should become the site of the philosophic empire…And so it is from the remote past, from the deep shadows of the medieval world as well as from the early struggles of more modern times, that the power of American democracy has come. But we are only on the threshold of the democratic state.…“Plato, it must be remembered, was a monarchist by philosophic conviction, but his ideal king was the wise man perfect in the virtues and the natural ruler of those less informed than himself. This king was the father of his people, impersonal and unselfish, dedicated to the public good, a servant of both the gods and his fellow men. This king was descended of a divine race; that is, he belonged to the Order of the Illumined; for those who come to a state of wisdom then belong to the family of the heroes–perfected human beings….In America shall be erected a shrine to Universal Truth, as here arises the global democratic Commonwealth–the true wealth of all mankind, which is designed in the foundation that men shall abide together in peace and shall devote their energies to the common cause of discovery. … The power of man lies in his dreams, his visions, and his ideals. This has been the common vision of man’s necessity in the secret empire of the Brotherhood of the Quest, consecrated to fulfilling the destiny for which we in America were brought into being.” (Manly P. Hall, The Secret Destiny of America, 122, 133, 395-396, 1573 (Kindle Edition))

The destiny of America rests upon her citizens. Will they choose to follow the Lord God as revealed in His Word, the Bible?

What will YOU choose?

Please turn to Jesus Christ today (Acts 2:37-47).

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.
