The Descent Of Christ Into Hades (Thirteen)

It is written:

“I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My eyes.” (Hosea 13:14)

Throughout the Old Testament, there were prophecies made that one Day, God would bring Hades to an end.

Here in Hosea, God makes such a promise. The Greek Old Testament clearly shows this is talking about Hades. The Apostle Paul quotes from the Greek Old Testament and writes:

1 Corinthians 15:55-O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING? O HADES, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY?”

In our future studies, we will see how this paves the way for Jesus and His Descent into Hades.
