The Demon Of Midday

It is written:

“Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.” (Psalm 91:6)

This passage discusses how God’s people do not need to live in terror of demonic spirits. One author has pointed out:

“In Psalm 91:6 the word translated “destruction” is Qeteb. The rabbis teach that Qeteb is a demonic spirit that comes in the daytime and brings a plague, as opposed to the demon Deber, translated pestilence, in this passage. Reshpeh, the nighttime demon was well known to the Canaanites. The LXX of this verse says “the demon of midday.”” (Ken Johnson, Th.D., Fallen Angels, 93 (Kindle Edition))

Through Christ, we have victory over all the powers of darkness.
