Exodus 20:3-You shall have no other gods before Me.

On April 5, 2026, President Trump shared the following public post from his “Truth” forum:

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There be nothing like it!!! Open the “f….” Strait, you crazy “b…….,” or you’ll be living in Hell-JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Again, our President (speaking of Iran) shared the following “Truth” post on April 11, 2026:

“…Their Navy is gone, their Air Force is gone, their Anti Aircraft apparatus is nonexistent, Radar is dead, their Missile and Drone Factories have been largely obliterated along with the Missiles and Drones themselves and, most importantly, their longtime “Leaders” are no longer with us, praise be to Allah!“

Our goal in this present devotional is not to critique the President’s words or actions in these areas. Christians familiar with the Word of God should need no help in discerning those matters. Rather, it is to examine one of the relevant questions which this raises dealing with the word “Allah.” It is not unusual to be told that “Allah” is just a generic Arabic name for “God,” and so there is nothing noteworthy for a person using the name “Allah.”

Is this true?

Is Allah just a generic reference for God?

The facts actually reveal that Allah is a specific god, and one that is very different from the God revealed in creation and in Scripture. As one scholar has pointed out:

“The use of the generic Arabic word Allah in a nineteenth century Arabic translation of the Bible does not have any logical bearing on the issue of whether or not the God of Islam and the God of the Bible are the same God. In logic, formal similarities mean nothing. The real issue is whether the concept of Allah in Islam is the same as that of the Christian God. If they are defined differently and have different or contradictory attributes, then, there is no logical way to escape the conclusion that they are different deities. The fact is that the Triune God of the Bible is not Islam’s Allah. Thus, the god of Islam is not the God of the Bible. Point 1: Since Islam denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that God is a Father, it denies the Father and the Son. Thus, Islam is an anti-Christ religion. It cannot be both a biblical religion and anti-Christ religion at the same time. Point 2: Allah’s attributes are radically different from the biblical God. For example, Allah is unknowable and unpredictable. He is not a Trinity. He did not become incarnate for man’s salvation. He is not a person or a spirit. He is not limited by anything, not even by his own nature. He does not talk directly to man; for example, he sent Gabriel to meet with Muhammad. (Note: as to a relationship, praying to Allah is not the same as having a direct personal relationship but that is left to another argument, not here.) Point 3: Just because you believe in one god does not logically imply that you have the right one. A Greek pagan could have proclaimed Zeus the one true god just as Muhammad proclaimed Allah to be. Point 4: The irrefutable fact that Muslims have consistently persecuted Christians as “infidels” reveals that when the rubber meets the road, Muslims believe that their god Allah is not the same God that Christians worship. Otherwise, Christians would have never been viewed or treated as infidels. Dr. Robert Morey put it this way: The Muslim god, Allah, is not the same God that Christians worship. The vast majority of Muslims know this to be true. This is why they call Christians “infidels” and persecute them. Thus, liberal Muslims in the West who claim otherwise, do so as an evangelistic tool to convert ignorant and unwary Westerners to Islam. That they knowingly and openly use deception is not right and it does not speak well of the religion of Islam. 78”. (Dr. Michael J. Oldham: Do Muslims And Christians Worship The Same God, Th.D., Allah and Elohim, 2287-2305 (Kindle Edition): Tate Publishing And Enterprises LLC)

What always stands out to me as the biggest difference between the God of the Bible and the god of Islam (and really all the gods of all the religions) centers on the love of God for humanity. In Islam, Allah created the human race for worshipful servitude.

Surah 51:56-I did not create jinn and mankind except to worship Me

In contrast, the God of the Bible fashions humanity (along with all creation) to be the recipients of His love (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 136: 1-9). This love of our Father led Him to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to be the Savior of whosoever will (John 3:16; 5:39; 7:17; Acts 2:38).

Praise be to Allah?

No.

Praise be to the one true God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

Father, thank You for revealing Yourself through universe and through Your Word. Thank You for Jesus Who loved us enough to endure Calvary. We praise You. Amen.
